JJ's Story
JJ came into our family when he was about eight months old. We didn't know anything about his life before us, but it didn't take long for him to become part of the family.
He's always been a dog with plenty of personality. Give him a ball, a belly rub or a snack and he's happy. And if a delivery truck pulls up, he'll let the entire neighborhood know about it.
But there was another side to JJ that wasn't nearly as much fun. JJ struggled with his stomach from an early age. He would skip meals, sometimes going a day or two without eating. At one point, he went more than a week without eating.
Like any family would, we wanted answers. We started looking more closely at what he was eating, what was in the products we were giving him and how nutrition could affect his overall well-being. The more we learned, the more we realized how difficult it could be to find products we genuinely felt good about giving him.
That search became the beginning of Rideman Pet Health.
We didn't set out to create a huge catalog of products. We wanted a focused lineup of pet wellness products that we would feel confident giving to our own dog. That became The JJ Standard.
Before a product earns a place in the Rideman Pet Health lineup, we ask a simple question: Would we give this to JJ? If the answer isn't yes, it doesn't belong here.
JJ isn't just a dog on our labels. He's our dog, he's the reason we started looking for better answers, and he's the reason every product we offer has to earn its place.
Today, JJ is doing what he loves: playing with his ball, getting his belly rubbed, enjoying a snack, spending time with his family and, of course, barking at delivery trucks. He's living his best life. And that's exactly what we want for your furry family member.
The JJ Standard
One question decides what makes the lineup: would we give this to JJ? Three things have to be true before the answer is yes.
He eats it without a fight
Taste comes first. A supplement that stays in the jar helps no one, so every flavor has to pass JJ before it reaches your dog.
We can explain every ingredient
Every active is listed with its amount per chew, in plain English, on the product page. If we cannot tell you why something is in there, it is not in there.
It is made in the USA
By people who make pet supplements for a living, in batches we can trace from the lot number on your jar.
"Your pet deserves the best" is easy to print on a label. The work is in earning it, one jar and one honest ingredient list at a time.
What we will not tell you
Supplements are not medicine, and we will never claim a chew cures anything. What a good supplement can do is support a healthy dog: joints, gut, skin, coat and daily nutrition.
If something seems wrong with your dog, your veterinarian comes first and we come second. When you do call us, you get a person in New Hampshire who knows the products and probably has a dog asleep under the desk.
